While it has long been reported that child dancer Maddie Ziegler will be leaving “Dance Moms” this season, there have been limited comments directly acknowledging the big move. However, it looks like the time has come for the big announcement to happen \as it appears that Maddie’s mom, Melissa Gisoni, will finally be breaking the news in the upcoming episode of the reality show.
Titled “Melissa’s Announcement,” the chapter will see the Ziegler matriarch telling master choreographer and ALDC (Abbie Lee Miller Dance Company) founder, Abby Lee Miller as well as the rest of the troupe, her decision to pull out not just Maddie but her younger sister, Mackenzie, from the team as well.
With the big shake up, Abby is reportedly stunned and distraught after Melissa’s news. Unfortunately, she does not have any time to spare and digest the shocker as the dance troupe is scheduled to compete in groups of three with the theme based on the new film “Hunstman: Winter’s War.”
In a teaser trailer for the aforementioned episode, snippets of Melissa’s speech were seen where he told the rest of the crew and their moms, “After this season, Maddie’s not going to be on the team anymore… This has been such a great ride together.”
The scene then cut to Abby addressing her dancers, “Don’t you guys realize the magnitude of this,” she asked them. The short clip was then ended with a teary group hug with all the members with Melissa quipping “This has been such a great ride together. “
The official synopsis for the upcoming episode as reported by International Business Times reads, “Abby’s whole world is shattered when Melissa shares shocking news that will change the face of the ALDC forever. But with the ALDC competing three trios and an epic group number inspired by the new blockbuster film, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, there is little time to spend mending Abby’s broken heart.”
Last month, Maddie appeared in the Kids Choice Awards and talked about leaving the reality show where she is from. After her stint in “Dance Moms,” the 13-year-old acclaimed dancer will handle futute commitments including a judging stint with “So You Think You Can Dance.”
