The upcoming episode of “Dance Moms,” titled “Maddie and Mackenzie Say Goodbye,” will see the departure of sisters Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler from the show.
The new episode will air on Tuesday, May 24 on Lifestyle. It is expected that before they say their goodbyes to the show and their co-stars, ALDC coach Abby Lee Miller will take the chance to give them a send-off.
The upcoming episode is also expected to feature the most memorable and best moments of the sisters throughout their stay in the series. Likewise, it will touch on the relationship of the sisters with their coach Abby in a never before seen perspective.
The reason for the departure of the Ziegler sisters, reportedly, was due to the decision of mother Melissa Gisoni. The sisters’ mother reportedly decided that it might now be the time for them to explore more of the world out of the dance reality TV series. But despite this decision to part ways with Miller, Gisoni is still thankful for everything the show host has done for the young dancers.
“Honestly, I’d rather be with you on a job than with moms that are all negative all the time,” Gisoni said. “I don’t want to sit on a bench anymore. I’m sick of it. We’ve turned a lot of things down and I just don’t want to do that anymore. We just have to be more available. There is more to the world than dance competitions.”
However, despite the two leaving the show, it seems that there is still a possibility that they will work together with Miller even though it will be outside of “Dance Moms.”
“Hopefully, wink wink, Maddie and I will work together again,” Miller said. “She’s still at my studio. That’s never going to change. But hopefully were going to be working on another project that you might just see on your television screen [or] even your computer screen in the future. Keep your fingers crossed.”
Even with the departure of the young sisters, “Dance Moms” will still go on with a seventh season. However, with their popularity and fanbase, it will seem that the absence of Maddie and Mackenzie will see the loss of viewership and ratings for the new season.
