CBS’ procedural investigation series “CSI: Cyber” has taken a short hiatus to give way to Superbowl 50. Viewers who have been waiting for the new installment will see Avery Ryan (Patricia Arquette) asking the help of a black hat hacker.
According to TV Overmind, Ryan and the rest of the team will be on the lookout for a cybercriminal who digitally “killed” her ex-husband Andrew Michaels (Brent Sexton). They will enlist the expertise of Stella Kaine, portrayed by guest star Kelly Osbourne, as she plays a black hat hacker.
Osbourne’s character was previously reported to be a notorious hacker also known by her nickname “The Angel of Digital Death.” Her weapon is her computer, and she does her murderous acts strictly via the Internet. However, the victims suffer real world consequences as they suddenly have death certificates files, their bank accounts drained, and credit cards cancelled.
Some reports claimed that it will be interesting to find out if the occasional actress will hide her British accent. Moreover, the title of the episode “The Walking Dead,” has some fans suggesting that it may have semblance with the titular post-apocalyptic survival show from AMC.
However, it remains to be seen if this would be the case as the synopsis simply reads, “Avery and the Cyber team attempt to work with black hat hacker Stella Kaine, to track down the hacker who took identity theft to a new level and digitally ‘killed’ Avery’s ex-husband.”
Directed by Frederick E.O. Toys and written by Andrew Karlsruher, Scotty McKnight, and Craig O’Neill, other guest stars include Kyle Schmid as Reaper, Krizia Bajos as Prosecutor Shaw, Adam Lieberman as Alton Shepard, and Anzu Lawson as Judge Loring.
“CSI: Cyber” season 2 episode 13 will air on Sunday, Feb. 14.
