Season 11 of “Criminal Minds” will be taking a one-week break and return next week to investigate criminals taking on children.
Last week in episode 16, titled “Derek,” the show centered on the story of Derek Morgan, played by Shemar Moore, being abducted by a group who has evil motives. The Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) did their best to look for Derek and the criminals in the nick of time to prevent inflicting further harm to him. They had difficulty reaching the FBI, fortunately, Derek was able to escape from the clasps of his tormentors through the visions he had of his father.
In the new episode slated for next week, Morgan will look into the identity of his kidnappers to find out their intent. Was he singularly targeted for a deeper reason? Along with this, the BAU will be engaged in a different case, this time with criminals who are targeting children.
In the official synopsis indicated on TV.com, it narrates, “The BAU searches in Wichita for an UnSub who is abducting children while their parents sleep. Meanwhile, Morgan tries to learn who was responsible for his attack.”
Bearing the title “Sandman,” the episode seems like referencing the mythical character in the European folklore responsible for giving the children good dreams. However, instead of sweet dreams, the children may instead have nightmares as they are targeted by a criminal while they are asleep. It is still unclear why the kidnappers are now targeting children, but the BAU will have to find out and stop them before they do harm and murder the children.
Episode 17 is directed by Joe Mantega. Meanwhile, the title for episode 18 has also been released, called “A Beautiful Mind” but no concrete details have been mentioned about it.
“Criminal Minds” season 11 will air episode 17 on Mar. 16 at 9 P.M. EST on CBS.
