'Criminal Minds' season 1 news: Upcoming episode is based on real life case of abducted women

The upcoming episode of “Criminal Minds” season 11 titled “Hostage” is bound to be a gripping case as it is reportedly based on a true to life case.

In the synopsis posted by Spoilers Guide, the week’s episode will revolve around an escaped abductee after she was held captive for years.

“When an 18-year-old girl escapes from a suburban home where she was held captive for years with two other women, the BAU searches for the Unsub who kidnapped them,” the synopsis read.

Based on the sneak peek posted on the site, Agent Derek Morgan is seen discussing the case of the three women who have been held by the unsub for over 10 years. The unsub in question was also shown addressing the girls by saying “Daddy” always loves them.

According to a report by Master Herald, the case bears a strong similarity to the case of Michelle Knight, one of the women abducted and kept hostage by Ariel Castro in 2013.

Michelle was abducted by Castro in 2002, while Amanda Berry was kidnapped a year after. After another year, another woman, Gina de Jesus was added to the captives. Michelle was 21, Amanda was 16, and Gina was 14 at the time of their kidnapping.

The three women escaped from their captor, when they were heard yelling from inside Castro’s house in 2013.

The episode, however, will show only one of the women escaping before the unsub is identified and the case is solved.

In an interview with NBC Today in 2014, Michelle said that she has already forgiven Castro for what he has done to them.

“If I did something wrong, even if it was a small thing, I would want somebody to forgive me. So I can forgive him for what he done wrong because that’s the way of life,” she said.
