Could this be their secret to a long-lasting marriage? The famous Duggar clan of “Counting On” recently shared details about their wedding tradition.
In a recent behind-the-scenes video clip, Duggar sisters Jinger Vuolo, Jill Dillard, and Jessa Seewald shared details about their family’s sweet wedding tradition.
Prior to tying the knot with Jeremy Vuolo in November 2016, Jinger joined her mother, Michelle Duggar, and her grandmother to meet with her wedding dress designer, Renee. She did so to follow the family tradition.
“This is such a special moment because this wedding dress is grandma Duggar’s,” Michelle explained to Renee. The Duggar matriarch went on to say that “she let me wear her wedding dress on my wedding day. I mean, it was just such a joy to get to wear your wedding dress.”
“There’s been a family tradition and whenever one of the girls gets married that they can take a piece of my mom and grandma Duggar’s dress — they wore the same dress for their weddings — and so we take a piece of that and incorporate it somewhere in our dress,” Jinger, 23, shared.
Jill, 25, married Derick Dillard in June 2014. She recalled that her mother and her grandma gave her a handkerchief made out of snippets from their wedding. The second oldest daughter wrapped the little cloth in her bouquet. Jill and Derick are now parents of two children.
As for Jessa, the matriarch of the Duggars, together with grandma Dugger, gave the then-bride a minuscule piece of rosette and placed it in her bouquet. The 24-year-old reality star and Ben Seewald said their marriage vows in November 2014. They recently welcomed their second son last February
New episodes of “Counting On” will air this summer on TLC.
