'Clash of Clans' October update, news: Friendly Wars, Barracks, new Gem Packages explained

“Clash of Clans” recently released its October update, much to the excitement of fans of the strategy game. It had been more than a month since Supercell released a new update, and now, gamers can experience the update’s new features such as Friendly Wars, Barracks, and new Gem Packages, among others.

Over the past few days, Supercell has been detailing how the new features work in the game. The game developer said that Friendly Wars is an especially good feature for those who only have an hour to spare for a quick 5 vs. 5. This allows two Clans to customize their war settings, and the way it works is that Friendly War challenges are issued via opponent Clan Profiles. Both Clan Leaders and Co-Leaders can accept the challenges from the game’s Clan Chat feature, and players can choose custom war durations and army sizes. Another good thing about this feature is that it doesn’t consume armies, and it’s all in the name of fun as Friendly Wars does not award loot or Clan XP.

As to how the Barracks feature works, it was said that this allows players to unlock troops and shorten training time. One only needs to upgrade one Barrack to unlock a new troop. Upgrading additional Barracks to the same level will reduce the training time of that troop. However, players will not be able to train troops while Barracks are upgrading.

The October update also brings new Gem Packages which can be found in the game’s shop. Town Hall level packs can only be purchased once, while Resource packs will be offered from time to time. Town Hall packs may include a mix of Gems, Defensive building, Hero, and Resources, while Resource packs may include an assortment of Gold, Elixir, and Gems. Players who own content from regular Town Hall packs can also purchase Alternative Town Hall Packs, which include Gems and Resources.
