It will be an interesting second half of the season for “Castle” when it comes back on air this Monday as ABC seems to not only have released the midseason opener of the show but the two following installments as well.
As previously reported, season 8b will be launched by “Tone Death” where newly made New York Police Department Captain Kate Beckett (Stna Katic) and her no longer estranged husband Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) will be investigating a murder in the competitive world of acapella. The episode will feature “High School Musical” alum Corbin Bleu as a guest star.
After breaking the ice for the remaining of the season, the show will bring Castle to a court session a first in the history of the program. Not only that, Beckett’s husband will also be in the spotlight as he will take the stands as a key witness to a murder from a couple of months ago.
“Castle finally gets his day in court when he takes the stand as the key witness to a murder from five months ago,” the “Witness for the Prosecution” synopsis read. “But when new information suddenly arises, he and Beckett must race against the clock to prevent a miscarriage of justice.”
Episode 11 titled “Dead Red” will then air where the couple will be forced to play a dangerous game involving Russian politics.
“The son of a Russian diplomat is murdered; during the investigation, Castle entertains a jovial Russian security guard, who turns out to be more involved in the case than expected,” the official premise of the episode noted.
Furthermore, after tackling what seem to be weekly cases, “Castle” will be bringing Castle to a road trip to Los Angeles in episodes 13 and 14. He will be accompanied by Alexis (Molly Quinn) and Hayley (Toks Olagundoye.) While there is still no other information on what the trip will be about, fans can anticipate that this season will be answering some mysteries regarding Castle’s loss of memory.
