'Captain America: Civil War' news: Paul Bettany discusses Vision's loyalty in new Marvel movie

Introduced in this year’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Vision is one of the most complex characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What makes Vision different is that he is an android which poses pros and cons to his character. He may be able to understand certain things better than the other Avengers, but human concepts like love and loyalty will be a work in progress for him. This is what the character will delve into when the superhero comes back for the much anticipated “Captain America: Civil War.”

Paul Bettany who breathed life to the Vision character recently spoke with Collider while promoting his latest directorial work, “Shelter.” The English actor also talked a little bit about which side he would be on come “Civil War.” He said, “I think he’s very interested in what it means to be human and what love is. The only way one can guarantee one’s loyalty is love. Loyalty is beyond logic, really. Logic doesn’t really provide for loyalty. If your logic changes suddenly and things [don’t] make sense, you can alter your allegiance, but love stops you from being able to do that.”

The English actor who first voiced Tony Stark’s trustee U.I. system and assistant J.A.R.V.I.S. also gave an insight on why he thinks Marvel films are such a huge hit in the box office. He explained that it is because the fans feel safe, and they remember what connected them to the original stories in the first place.

Not much is known yet on what the specifics are in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War” movie, only that there will be two sides opposing over a relevant matter. If history is any indication of where Vision’s loyalty will lie, it is safe to say that he will stay with his “creator,” Iron Man.
