'Captain America: Civil War' news, rumors: Film to have major impact on MCU

Fan expectations continue to increase as the date of release for “Captain America: Civil War” comes even closer.

Since the first trailer was shown to the public late last year, moviegoers have been eager to find out more about the movie, more so because the people behind the film have also expressed their excitement.

Actor Anthony Makie, who plays Falcon aka Sam Wilson, told IGN that this will be the greatest cinematic movie in the Marvel universe so far.

Makie said: “It’ll be very different because… I feel the best Marvel movies thus far have been Winter Soldier and Iron Man. And I think this movie far surpasses those two movies. I think the Russo brothers and Marvel have done a very good job with upping the ante every movie. And this one definitely does not fail to live up to that.”

Joe Russo, the co-director for the movie, seems to have strengthened the comment of Makie by saying during an interview with Empire Magazine, which Comic Book Movie shared: “The consequences of Civil War will have an even more significant impact [than The Winter Soldier]. In Civil War, we’re going to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Psychology, and it’s an extreme shift.”

Rumors about a very shocking death that will rock the Marvel universe is circulating and the comments of both Makie and Russo are adding fuel to the fire.

Ant-Man is joining the fray and he may be siding with Captain America in the civil war. Further speculations about the Ant-Man character say that he will be able to grow aside from shrink.

Finally, it is believed or further rumored that the ending will tie in very closely to the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War” films that Marvel has in the pipeline. Many fans are already expecting the appearance of Thanos or, at the very least, a hint of his presence.

Makie did not confirm this, though, and just added that people should expect a very dramatic ending.
