The Zombies mode for the upcoming shooter game “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” was recently teased by game developer Infinity Ward to be coming soon, and based on their latest announcement, the much awaited game mode will be revealed in the coming days.
In a recent post on the official “Call of Duty” Twitter account, a new teaser was posted, this time in the format of a GIF image. The image showed a lockbox with a countdown timer. The timer can be seen counting down for about 10 seconds. The caption reads: “It’s almost time for the big premiere! Grab the popcorn and get ready to scream… #IWZombies.”
While the teaser did not give out a specific date, “Call of Duty” fan site Charlie Intel deciphered that the special event would be on Aug. 16, as depicted by the cryptic number on the lockbox, which showed the number 16.
The latest teaser for “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” is believed to be in preparation for the game’s release on Nov. 4.
Meanwhile, in other related news, another “Call of Duty” game is also preparing to release zombie-themed content.
“Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” will be receiving the final installment of the Zombies storyline via forthcoming downloadable content (DLC). Game developer Treyarch’s senior executive producer Jason Blundell recently described the DLC in a previous interview with GameSpot, saying that the final chapter will “put brackets around” the entire experience as it wraps the storyline to a conclusion. It will resolve unanswered questions and give light to cliffhangers in the previous installment.
“That will be answered by the end of DLC 4,” the executive producer said. “I believe that the ending of DLC 4 will spark emotion in the players, which is my goal. It’s not out of the desire for trolling, as people say. No, what I want to do is have you have complex and differing thoughts on what you’ve experienced and what your view is. I hope that’s what we generate when we come to the end of DLC 4.”
The fourth DLC for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” is expected to arrive later this year.
