'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' DLC updates: 'Eclipse' to drop today

The new DLC for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” is expected to be available for the PlayStation 4 starting today.

Just a day prior to the expected release date of the upcoming DLC named “Eclipse,” Activision released another teaser to further hype the anticipation of fans. The trailer, which spans almost two minutes, mainly features the four new maps coming to the game.

In the upcoming DLC, the Verge map will center on the setting of a post-apocalyptic future combat. The clip gives a quick glimpse of a player shooting the different creatures in varying locations.

On the other hand, the Knockout map will feature combats in a Shaolin Temple as well as a Kung Fu tournament. In the video, the snippets show the same action-packed gun shooting but with a more oriental background.

Meanwhile, the Spire map will specifically feature a sub-orbital and futuristic battle. In the trailer, the players have other paraphernalia aside from the rifles.

As for the Rift map, it will take place at the core of an advanced military complex. The clip also shows other weapons used, particularly what look like grenades.

Prior to this trailer, Activision already released other sneak peeks, which included a general overview of Eclipse as well as the multiplayer map for Verge.

“Eclipse” will first be available for PlayStation 4 as part of the exclusive time-bound deal between Sony and the developer. It is available for a standalone purchase for $15 or for those who want to ensure that they get all four DLCs, a season pass may be bought for $50. The first expansion, called “Awakening” was already released earlier, while two more DLCs are expected to come later this year after “Eclipse.”

The release date of the DLCs for PC and Xbox One consoles may come a month after.
