'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' DLC news: 'The Awakening' to come early 2016, 5 new maps to be included

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” fans will be happy to know that there will be a DLC coming next year called “The Awakening.”

During the PlayStation Experience held this December, it was announced that “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” will have a total of five new maps four in multiplayer mode named Skyjacked, Rise, Splash, and Gauntlet, and one Zombie map called Der Eisendrachen.

The developers are promising a new “momentum-based chained-movement system” that will enable the players to move seamlessly in the game’s environment. There will also be several new moves such as slides, wall, run, mantling abilities, and thrust jump as players hold and control the weapon of their characters. The new maps will also allow players to navigate well both through their traditional moves as well as more advance styles.

PlayStation users will be the first to get the DLC, followed by Xbox and PC users a month after. There are rumors that the said DLC will be launched on Jan. 26, 2016.

Meanwhile, a live update came in during the double XP weekend starting Dec. 11 until Dec. 14 at 10 A.M. PT or 1 P.M. ET. This brought in 19 new weapons, as well as Nuk3town map in rotation. The double XP weekend can give additional experience to players as they complete kills, accomplish objectives, or beat challenges. Players can also earn a lot of experience by playing Kill Confirmed, where they kill and retrieve dog tags. Aside from these, fans playing “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” Zombie mode also get double experience credits when they play using Zombies.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” ranked as the top best-selling physical games in the United States for November 2015. It is available for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles.
