Singer Bruno Mars has partnered with Cardi B to release a remix of his song “Finesse.” The singers also released the song’s music video which is a tribute to the Nineties comedy television show “In Living Color.”

The song features a new rap verse by Cardi B at its beginning, leading off to Mars’ vocals and upbeat tracks. In the video, the duo, along with their background singers and dancers, wore colorful outfits which could have been taken directly from the iconic comedy sketch show. Like the show, the music video also featured choreographed dancing.

Mars also tweeted about the video, saying “This video is dedicated to one my favorite T.V shows of all time.”

The “Versace on the Floor” singer also revealed via social media how their new collaboration came to be. On his Instagram account, Mars posted a selfie of himself with Cardi B. In the caption, he shared how a 3 a.m. run-in turned into the song remix.

“I met Cardi B at 3 am after my show in LA backstage where we recorded her verse for Finesse. She walked in the room and she was everything I’d hoped she’d be,” the singer wrote.

He also offered a heartfelt message to the young rapper. “Never change Cardi!” he continued in the caption. “Don’t let this crazy music business change who you are. You possess something that can’t be taught. You’re a true star. Thank you for putting your energy and love all over this record and video”

“Finesse” hails from Mars’ highly acclaimed 2016 album “24K Magic.” In a previous interview, he revealed that the track was one of the songs that he tinkered with heavily before getting it to his liking. The singer said that he was very conscious of the bounce throughout the album, and it took around 20 revisions before he was satisfied with his original version of the song.
