As the fifth episode of anime series “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” approaches, speculations about a mysterious new student swirl online.

The upcoming episode titled “The Mysterious Transfer Student” will feature a young, shadowy boy who will join Konoha Academy as a transfer student, according to a report from ComicBook.com.  The boy happens to be Mitsuki, the son of the great villain Orochimaru from the “Naruto” anime series. Being the synthetic offspring of one of Naruto’s greatest foes, Mitsuki is bound to impress everyone with his remarkable ninja skills.

Mitsuki’s history is quite unconventional. Orochimaru created him by cloning the embryo of one of his father’s earlier Mitsuki versions. The boy carries in him the DNA of his snake sannin father. However, he made sure that only he can dictate how his destiny should be. He did so by rebelling and stepping outside of his father’s shadows.

Fans anticipate seeing Boruto’s first meeting with Mitsuki, along with their initial interactions. Apart from Mitsuki’s entrance, Boruto will also notice an equally mysterious purple aura engulfing one of the school’s personnel. This automatically spells trouble brewing.

Meanwhile, a report from The Christian Post also noted that episode 6 will feature more of Mitsuki. The episode titled “The Final Lesson” will likely have something to do with Shino requesting his students to meet him somewhere.

Last year, series creator Masashi Kishimoto confirmed that the “Next Generations” series will have a happier and lighter tone compared to its predecessor, “Naruto Shippuden.” He also noted that Boruto’s personality is quite different from his father’s. He describes Naruto as the more straightforward and serious type, according to a post from AnimeBlog.

“Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 5 airs on May 3 at 5:55 p.m. JST on TV Tokyo. Fans from outside Japan can catch the latest episode on anime streaming site Crunchyroll.
