Black Ops 3 release date: Multiplayer beta to commence in last week of August, Treyarch confirms gender customizable for protagonist

It has been mentioned before that the protagonist for Black Ops is ‘customizable,’ but reports did not elaborate on the level of customization available.

However, a recent report by iDigital Times has shown that players can totally customize the main characters to the game including their genders.

The report, which cited GameRanx as a source, stated that players can get access to a ‘blank slate’ character at the beginning that they can then mold according to their preferences. This is the end for the usual storied male characters that make up the main cast of the previous Black Ops games, namely David Mason and his son Alex.

GameRanx revealed that the player’s choice will affect the flow of the story.

To give players a taste of what multiplayer experience Black Ops 3 has in store for players, Breitbart said that Activision is going to make a beta version available for players who pre-order their copies of Black Ops 3 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Breitbart’s report said that PlayStation 4 players will get access to the beta on August 19 until August 23. On the other hand, Xbox One buyers will be able to test the multiplayer beta from August 26 until August 30. PC gamers also get access to the beta simultaneously with the Xbox One.

The article added that buyers who pre-ordered at retail sites as well as through the PlayStation and Xbox stores are automatically registered for the beta, and will get instant access once it is available on the pre-determined dates.

In addition to these features, PC Gamer earlier confirmed that the third title in the Black Ops franchise will feature the return of the well-loved “Zombies” mode that debuted in the series’ prequel, Call of Duty: World at War.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be released on November 6, 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
