A new update has been released by Treyarch for the currently ongoing beta testing of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for PlayStation 4 players.
This new update brought in various changes, including new maps and a new level cap.
According to an article at GameSpot, the beta was went live on Thursday at 10 AM PDT and introduced one new mode, one new map, and a level cap.
The new mode, Uplink, has brought the total number of modes in the Black Ops 3 multiplayer to 8, while there are now four maps in the game with the addition of the Stronghold map.
Players can now go up in levels as high as level 34, GameSpot said, at which point they can now unlock special items like the VMP SMG and Reaper Specialist weapons and the Power Core scorestreak, and H.A.T.R. scorestreak abilities.
The beta testing for PlayStation 4 players began last Wednesday, and is scheduled to continue until Sunday. Meanwhile, Xbox One and PC players can access the beta on August 26 until the 30th.
According to Activision Communications Manager Scott Lowe, the live beta testing period is designed to let players sample the new features of the game’s multiplayer mode as well as determine early on what character is best suited to their playing style.
“During the beta, fans will have an opportunity to try the new momentum-based, chained movement system, find the perfect Specialist to fit their play style, get a feel for the new multiplayer maps, and more,” Lowe’s post in the official Activision blog said.
The live beta testing is open to players who have pre-ordered their copy of the latest installment in the Black Ops franchise.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is scheduled to be released on November. According to the magazine PC Gamer, the third Black Ops title will bring back the highly popular zombies mode that began with Call of Duty: World at War.
