Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner divorce: couple officially file for divorce after ten months of separation


In a disappointing news from the Hollywood couple, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, the two have announced their divorce ending the 10-year-old marriage.

According to a report by People Magazine, the couple had been having troubles for a long time, and were reportedly in therapy.

A source close to the couple, speaking to People, said, “These are two people who really tried to save their marriage and worked really hard at it. Ultimately they had grown apart and they did what was best for their kids.”

The report also claimed that after the announcement of the divorce Affleck was visibly devastated and was not coping well with the separation.The report also said that the couple had been separated for about ten months now, with Affleck staying at the couple’s house in Los Angeles.

Another source close to the couple, speaking to People, said, “He’s devastated. Nobody intends to go down this path. They both battled, and he really battled to try and save the marriage but ultimately it was the best thing for the kids and for him and Jen.”

The couple announced that the divorce would not come in the way of raising their three kids, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3, which is said to remain their utmost priority.

According to a report by Hollywood Life, the couple filed for divorce on June 30, after they decided to officially call it quits and they are using a mediator to divide the assets.

Speaking to Hollywood Life, a source close to the couple said, “There’s a lot at stake, including the homes, the children and the bank accounts. There could be a long negotiation if there is an issue between them that we don’t know about, versus them just being friends and amicably resolving their case.”
