The fourth and final season of The CW’s supernatural drama “Beauty and the Beast” is quickly coming to a close with only two remaining installments that feature Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) and Vincent (Jay Ryan) dealing with their own longtime demons.

When the couple first met, Cat was only sixteen and Vincent was a beast. After four seasons, they got married and seemed to have achieved their happily ever after. However, their marriage may be rocked with some of the things that still haunt them.

Titled “Love is a Battlefield,” the penultimate episode will have Vincent going undercover with a sexy operative (AnnaLynne McCord) but Cat soon discover that the person is an assassin. Vincent then has to play both sides while Cat tries to convince the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that she can still be trusted.

A promo clip shows Cat watching from a surveillance camera of what could be an intimate moment between Vincent and the assassin. Although it remains to be seen how she will react to them, speculations suggest that she remains trusting of her husband.

It can be recalled that in episode 7, she teamed up with DHS to track Vincent down but it turned out that she actually had other plans. The latter then sensed that she had an underlying message for him.

Down the pipeline, the synopsis for the season finale dubbed “The Getaway” teases that the couple will finally be reunited, “Vincent and Cat strive to return normalcy to their lives despite the threats posed by a beast bounty and DHS manhunt.” Tess (Nina Lisandrello) will also take a risk by shielding Vincent from a reporter.

In an interview with Zap2it, Kreuk hinted, “I hope the people who have struggled with the ups and downs of the (main characters’) relationship will feel very satisfied by the end.”

Season 4 episode 8 is slated to air on July 21, followed by episode 9 on July 28. Both episodes will air on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET.
