More spoilers are coming in for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” with its production underway in preparation for the release date that has been pushed earlier to March 25, 2016.
Warner Brothers’ chief executive officer Kevin Tsujihara explained the changes in the second installment for DC Extended Universe, “It was a tough decision at the time because it was going to create a hole in 2015. But it was absolutely the right decision for the franchise, for DC and the movie. Having seen the movie multiple times, and again last night, I’m extremely confident it was the right decision to make the movie better. And it’s so important for the studio to get the foundation right on DC,” The Hollywood Reporter shares.
When it comes to the growing cast, Michael Shannon teased that his role may be more than a cameo. Talking to Vulture, he recounted the story wherein he was on set and was unable to go out of the door since he was wearing flippers, “So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder, the director] being like, ‘Where’s Shannon? And the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, ‘Let me out of here!'”
Although he did not talk directly which character he is playing, with General Zod previously appearing in the film’s trailer, rumors have it that he may actually become Doomsday.
Meanwhile, according to Comicbook, a local news show in Michigan has interviewed an extra in the movie who may have broken the contract for no leaked information.
The unnamed extra mentioned that aside from a melee between Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor which will see paparazzi, fireworks, “heavy special effects,” and military presence to presumably break off the fight, the script reportedly includes the character of Robin having a female iteration.
The outlet said that this added to the speculation that actress Jena Malone could play Carrie Kelley, the female version of Robin from “The Dark Knight Returns” by Frank Miller.
