'Batman v Superman' trailer shares first look at Doomsday

Warner Bros. Pictures, as promised, revealed the second full trailer for their much awaited upcoming film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” on “Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!” This is following the short teaser trailer shown at the end of the midseason finale of “Gotham” that aired Monday this week.

The new trailer features fresh new footages from the film and more detailed dialogues coming from various characters. The trailer gave fans a first look at the first meeting of Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne, as they attended an event seemingly organized by billionaire Lex Luthor. The opposing views, which will eventually be the striking match for the conflict between two of the most iconic heroes, was evident in the said encounter. Clark voiced his negative stand towards Batman, and Bruce does the same towards Superman.

Aside from the new features, the three-minute video also showed one of the film’s villainDoomsday. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman all working together to bring down the villain was also revealed.

From the looks of it, the film version of Doomsday is the result of an experiment that revived and enhanced General Zod, as organized and planned seemingly by Lex Luthor. One of the most common origins of Doomsday in the comic books is a monster coming from Krypton that resulted from an experiment. Doomsday is famous in the comic books for being the creature that managed to overwhelm Superman and eventually kill him.

As part of the DC Extended Universe roadmap, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will be followed by “Suicide Squad” on August of the same year. Meanwhile, “Wonder Woman” and “Justice League Part One” film will come in 2017.
