'Batman v Superman' news: New TV spots, art work released by Warner Bros. Pictures

Two new TV spots along with an art work were unleashed by Warner Bros. Pictures for the upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” movie.

The first clip, available for viewing on IGN, showcases a voice-over that states, “This bat vigilante is like a one-man reign of terror,” as the camera pans from a heavily-caped Batman standing high up on a steel pillar to a presumed bloodied Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) tied to a wall.

It also reveals the rift between Clark Kent/Superman, portrayed by Henry Cavill, and Laurence Fishburne’s character, Perry White, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet.

Continuing the movie’s ominous narrative is Superman’s declaration to Batman: “Next time they shine their light in the sky, don’t go to it!” as both costumed fighters are surrounded by a fiery blaze.

The second clip tackles the heated discussion of Wayne and his trusted butler Alfred, portrayed by Jeremy Irons. Both men have opposing views on Superman’s existence on planet Earth. The 30-second clip finishes with Superman touching down with a giant thud that shakes the ground and dust gets blown up in every direction.

Director Zack Snyder himself has gone to a social media crusade asking fans to take their side in the upcoming slug fest, as mentioned on his Twitter social media account. The post, which is highlighted with a video, reads: “#Batman (bat emoji) #Superman (superman insignia emoji) #WhoWillWin?”

Accompanying the hype machine is an updated movie poster that now bears the “Who Will Win?” slogan, as seen on the Twitter handle “Batman v Superman.”

Now, even more details can be expected from the latest issue of Empire Magazine featuring the two DC superheroes, with interviews with the director and the lead actors.

Meanwhile, in other DC comics’ related adaptations, director Kevin Smith, who was name-dropped to direct an episode of “The Flash” on television, mentioned that there is a possibility of having a shared cinematic and television universe in the DC camp.

The quote was taken from his “Fatman on Batman” podcast on YouTube, which talks about a conversation between Smith and DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.

“‘Hey man, DC is known for nothing if not a multiverse,’ so at which point I was like [to Johns], ‘Could they [expletive] crossover?’ And he was like, ‘Ahh.’ So doors are being left open and stuff like that,” the director unveiled.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will hit theaters on March 25, while Smith’s “The Flash” episode is said to air sometime in May.
