Charles Roven, producer of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” said last week that there will be a new footage of the movie coming very soon. Although the new trailer is not yet released at the moment, the movie is getting more concrete details as the release date slowly approaches.
Just four months away from the premiere, Movie Pilot revealed that there will only be three main superheroes featured in the movie. They are the superheroes from the DC Universe who are expected to get a solo title later on. Of course, other characters such as Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) will still be seen in the movie, but the story will focus on Batman and Superman.
In Roven’s interview with Collider, he explained, “I don’t think that’s an issue for this film at all. I really don’t… I think that the film is called ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ so there’s a reason it’s called ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and not ‘Dawn of Justice: Batman v Superman.’ So you’re gonna invest mostly in ‘Batman v Superman,’ and I think that you’ll find other characters in there that you hopefully will want to see more of.”
As for the plot, Roven mentioned that they tried to stay balanced with the approach especially with the appearance of Wonder Woman. He said in the same interview, “I think you’ll see in ‘Batman v Superman,’ we stayed true to that, we were attempting to stay true to that, how are things affecting Superman here, Batman is still human, he’s not Meta, he’s just a human, Wonder Woman is Meta, if you will, although some might think that she’s a God.”
Meanwhile, it has been clear that Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) will play a villain role. However, there are rumors surfacing that the new trailer may also introduce a new villain, described as widely “powerful and intelligent.” This could be pertaining to Brainiac, as some comic book fans speculate, but Lex Luthor may also qualify well with the “power and intelligent” description.
Hopefully, fans will find out more details when the new footage comes out. Roven did not specify any date, but he assured that it will be out before the year ends.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” hits the big screen on March 26, 2016.
