“The Bachelor” alum Chris Soules got involved in a fatal vehicular accident and was arrested.
“Chris Soules was involved in an accident Monday evening (April 24) in a rural part of Iowa near his home. He was devastated to learn that Kenneth Mosher, the other person in the accident, passed away. His thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Mosher’s family,” Soules’ spokesperson released a statement through People.
According to the reports, the incident involved a tractor and a pickup truck colliding. It resulted in the death of 66-year-old Kenneth Mosher from Aurora, Iowa. The reality star’s truck rear-ended the tractor. It then dragged both vehicles into the ditch.
Soules reportedly called 911 and informed the operator that the victim was unconscious. He also told the 911 officer that Mosher wasn’t breathing. The former reality star also asked an unidentified person to perform CPR while he checked the pulse.
Soules was sent to jail at 1:16 a.m. on Tuesday and was charged for allegedly leaving the scene of a fatal car accident. However, the authorities did not accuse him of driving under the influence.
Eventually, the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office released him after he posted the $10,000 bond for bail.
“I believe it was a very tragic, sad accident that took the life of a guy that was just coming home from work,” Robert Roepke talked to People. Roepke’s daughter is married to Mosher’s son.
“For Chris, what happened was just a freak accident. It’s something he’s going to have to deal with for the rest of his life. It just ended very tragically,” he also said.
Soules, 35, is a farmer in Arlington, Iowa. He first appeared on television when he starred in the tenth season of “The Bachelorette” with Andi Dorfman as the leading lady. In the end, he came in third.
His popularity in the said show made him the lead star in the 19th season of “The Bachelor” later on, wherein he proposed to Whitney Bischoff. Sadly, they called off the engagement in May 2015.
