This week on “Bachelor in Paradise,” Caila Quinn’s arrival caused quite a stir at the Playa Escondida resort in Mexico, and a medical emergency sent Evan Bass to the doctor.

Caila asked Jared Haibon on a date, and the two went horseback riding along the beach. The two had an afternoon swim, and just hours after meeting her, Jared appeared to be smitten and kissed Caila on their date. After going back to the island, Jared broke up with Emily Ferguson, and she cried over him. However, Caila and Jared’s new relationship isn’t without complication as Ashley Iaconetti arrived at the resort.

It can be recalled that Ashley and Jared stayed friends after last season’s “Bachelor in Paradise,” but it appears that she still hasn’t gotten over him as she told cameras that Caila is a backstabber for dating Jared.

Ashley cried nonstop at the resort, and this made Caila feel bad. Jared noticed that Caila was holding back and he decided to confront Ashley once and for all. Jared told her that he was frustrated with her obsession with him, and Ashley confessed that it was hard for her to let go.

Meanwhile, Evan bonded with Carly Waddell, and things were going well for him when he suddenly noticed that his ankles were strangely swollen, and a doctor sent Evan to the hospital to deal with the medical emergency.

The episode ended on a cliffhanger, but according to Reality Steve, Ashley leaves after not getting a rose, but comes back “about 30 minutes later” to ask for a second chance. The spoiler site run by Steve Carbone claims that it was given to her because it’s likely that the show did not bring her in to appear in only one episode.

Next week in episode 4, the men will be asking for dates while the ladies will be giving out roses at the Rose Ceremony. Four new contestants will arrive, and according to Carbone, they are Brett Melnick and Carl King from Andi Dorfman’s season, Ryan Beckett from Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season, and Wells Adams from JoJo Fletcher’s season.

In a surprising move, twins Emily and Haley Ferguson are said to have eliminated themselves by not giving out their roses at the Rose Ceremony. However, on their way out, the two are said to have pulled Amanda Stanton aside to warn her about Josh Murray’s intentions and this reportedly made him mad and took it out on everyone at the resort. Carbone claims that Josh took most of his anger out on Nick Viall and that the fight “will not show Josh in the greatest of light.”

“Bachelor in Paradise” airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
