'Avengers: Infinity War' news: Joe Russo on the 'culmination' film


The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)which started with The Hulk, followed by the introduction of Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark/Iron Man, Thor, Steve Rogers/Captain America, and all the way to The Avengers and morewill hit its climax in the upcoming films “Avengers: Infinity War Part I” and “Avengers: Infinity War: Part II.”

People following the series of films within the MCU know and expect that the superheroes in the films will not be the same ones that appeared in the source material Although not everyone will be present, fans can be assured that the film will still be as massive.

Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of the upcoming and much awaited film “Captain America: Civil War,” were recently interviewed in China. Among the topics that were discussed were “Avengers: Infinity War Part I” and “Avengers: Infinity War: Part II.” These two films are expected to bring majority of the characters in the MCU together to fight their biggest villain everso big that it had to be split into two films.

In the interview, Joe Russo said that the upcoming two-part film will be the culmination of all the other films that were released within the MCU. This means that the film will not lack in the superhero roster department.

“There are twenty movies behind them, they’re the culmination of twenty films,” said Joe Russo. “You won’t be disappointed in the scale of those movies or of the number of characters that are in them. As mentioned, it’s the culmination of twenty movies, and so twenty films of storytelling will intersect in those movies.”

However, it was not mentioned whether the TV part of the MCUthe Netflix original series and “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”will be a part of that “culmination.”

“Avengers: Infinity War Part I” and “Avengers: Infinity War: Part II” will open in May 2018 and May 2019, respectively.
