As expectations increase for the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War,” fans are already discussing the possibilities of the two-part movie and which superheroes will be included in it. Recently, Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, co-directors of the upcoming movie “Captain America: Civil War,” have hinted that there are 67 characters who will be part of the “Infinity War” films.
During the Wizard World New Orleans comic con, as reported by Comic Book Movie, A. Russo mistakenly referred to Peggy Carter, founder of S.H.I.E.L.D., as Sharon Carter. This caught everyone’s attention.
J. Russo came to the immediate defense of his brother, saying: “We have so many characters we’re dealing with. We’re breaking ground on ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ We have a board with 67 character on it. You have to forgive him.”
Paste Magazine, however, shared soon after that J. Russo mentioned to the panel audience at the Wizard World Cleveland: “Well, we made a mistake. It’s actually 68.”
The fan speculations of all the appearances came with worry as to how complicated it could be, but J. Russo explained that they will focus on the emotional arcs of a few for both “Infinity War” movies and incorporate the other characters in those larger plotlines.
J. Russo continued to say, “Look, we have to tell the story and the story has to be build around the emotional arcs of characters, and you can only have so many emotional arcs.”
While the words of J. Russo has answered a few questions, fans are asking more and more questions. Many wonder if the other heroes will show, such as those from the Marvel television series, Deadpool who was a recent hit in the box office, and many more.
As the date of the first “Avengers: Infinity War” is still far off, with a targeted date of May 4, 2018, fans are eagerly awaiting how this historical movie will turn out.
