While the most-awaited Marvel superhero film, “Avengers: Infinity War,” won’t premiere until 2018, it appears that some cast members like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans have stumbled upon new film projects.

Deadline has learned that Downey, 51, was recently tapped to star in the movie “The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle,” and he would be playing the titular character.

Filming is expected to commence next year, with the production having a hefty budget of about $160 million. Academy Award-winning scriptwriter Stephen Gaghan will write and direct the movie under the production of Universal Pictures.

The upcoming movie is based on the second children’s book of Hugh Lofting’s “Doctor Dolittle” series, which was published in the 1920s. The book follows the adventure of Dr. Dolittle, an eccentric physician-turned-veterinarian who claims to have the ability to communicate with animals.

In 1998, Eddie Murphy played the role in the “Dr. Dolittle” film. The franchise was a huge success, and it gave way to two more sequels.

Meanwhile, Chris Evans is set to star in “Red Sea Diving Resort,” a movie that centers on the rescue and transport of Ethiopian Jews to Israel in 1981. The 35-year-old actor will take on the role of Ari Kidron, an Israeli agent who has seen the hostility and who decided to lead a group of common people to assist with the escape plan.

The drama film is written and it will be directed by Gideon Raff. Bron Studios will finance the movie with Alexandra Milchan as producer.

In other news, a teaser for “Avengers: Infinity War,” which gave a first look at the film’s production, was posted on Marvel Entertainment’s YouTube page. Chris Pratt, Robert Downey Jr, and Tom Holland were seen in the video. Executive producer Kevin Feige was also featured, explaining what to expect in the upcoming live-action movie.

“‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is a combination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe as started in May 2008 … and it really is an unprecedented combination of a series of films interlinked together. We know they’re going to face Thanos. We’ve been setting that up since ‘Avengers’ one. How do you do that in a way that is unexpected that pits the Avengers against somebody who is more powerful than anyone they face and yet make them completely unprepared to face him. Well, tear them apart!” Feige stated.
