The anime television adaptation of the popular Japanese manga series, “Attack on Titan” is poised to return for its second season, wherein the main storyline will be about Eren Yeager’s chance to find out more about his past, including the secrets of his father and the prospect of the existence of a half-brother.
For the past couple of months and right after the confirmation that a second season of “Attack on Titan” is indeed happening, news about Eren’s very shady past started emerging, with rumors and speculations claiming that the entire anime series could very well head into a different direction once Eren finds out more about his true identity and family background.
According to Mobipicker, the most intriguing part of all of it is Dr. Grisha Yeager’s (Eren’s father) basement and what it really contains. Although there have been so many theories out there, the only thing that’s concrete right now is that it will be about Eren, and part of it could be about his half-brother someone he never knew of.
iTech Post reports that in the original manga version of this particular sequence, the rather mysterious basement is explored by Eren, thanks to the key his father left him before his death. Eren, together with what remains of the Survey Corps, went to the basement where they found secret journals written by Grisha and Eren gave specific attention to a photo that came along with the journals.
Should the anime series keep itself in line with the original manga content, it only means one thing: that season 2 will finally probably reveal a not so desirable and even dark side of Eren’s past, including the truth behind the origin of the Titans. By looking at the positive side, any information they get about the Titans could be used to formulate a much better plan of defeating them.
“Attack on Titan” season 2 premieres in 2017.
