ASUS ZenFone ZOOM release date: Device available in the U.S. starting Feb. 1

Finally, the ASUS ZenFone ZOOM will be coming to North America, as online sales of the device is set to begin on Feb. 1, with pre-orders already available.

More than a year after it was first launched by the company, ASUS will be releasing their ZenFone ZOOM to the U.S. The device was initially launched in Taiwan. For the U.S. release, it will be exclusively available through online retailer B & H Photo Video Pro Audio. The device can be pre-ordered for a price of $399, plus additional applicable shipping fee. Shipping of pre-ordered devices as well as normal sales will begin on Feb. 1.

To recall the specs of the device, ASUS takes pride in the ZenFone ZOOM as the world’s “thinnest phone with 3x optical zoom.” The device boasts of Pixel Master 2.0 camera technology. All thanks to the state of the art smartphone camera technology, the 13-megapixel main camera of the device delivers photo capturing quality that is better than what most smartphone cameras can deliver. It is made out of a 10-mirror HOYA lens technology, which is composed of four Spherical lenses, four Glass lenses, and 2 Prism type lenses. It also features an Optical Image Stabilization technology for the prevention of shaky images.

It sports a 5.5-inch display with 1080p Full HD resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It runs under a quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor with CPU clocking in at 2.3 GHz and a PowerVR G6430 GPU for graphics. It packs 4GB worth of RAM along with 64GB worth of built-in internal storage capacity. The device also has support for external microSD expansion.

The ZenFone ZOOM boots on Android Lollipop 5.0 and is powered by a 3,000mAH battery with BoostMaster Technology for fast charging.
