An alleged roadmap of the release plans of ASUS for their new line of smartphones, the ZenFone 3 series, recently leaked online, ahead of its expected launch. The alleged roadmap revealed the specifications of three devices that will be the initial line up of the ZenFone 3 seriesthe vanilla variant ZenFone 3, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, and the premium ZenFone 3 Ultra.
In a recent post by mobile tipster Roland Quandt on his Twitter account, a release roadmap of what was claimed to be that of the upcoming new ASUS ZenFone 3 series showed the full specifications of the three initial devices that are all expected to be unveiled today at a company event at the Humble House in Taipei, Taiwan. However, it was noted that the roadmap was at least a month old, which means that there might be changes from the listed specs compared to what may be announced by the company.
Based on the leaked roadmap, the standard variant, the ASUS ZenFone 3, will be sporting a 5.5-inch TF display with 1080 x 1920 pixels Full HD resolution on a 2.5D glass material. It will run under a Snapdragon 625 chipset with a 2GHz octa-core CPU and 3GB RAM. It will sport a 16-megapixel main rear camera with an 8-megapixel selfie snapper and will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery.
Meawhile, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe was tipped to have a 5.7-inch AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 820 chipset. The graphics will be handled by an Adreno 530 GPU. The device is expected to pack 6GB of RAM and have a 23-megapixel main rear camera with support for EIS and HDR.
On the other hand, the ASUS ZenFone 3 Ultra boasts of a “groundbreaking” 23-megapixel camera with light-speed auto-focus and electronic and optical image stabilization features. It was tipped to run on a Snapdragon 652 chipset and is powered by a 4,600 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging feature. Other features of this premium variant include a fingerprint scanner, an Adreno 510 GPU, and a metal frame body.
