Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. This seems to be the theme of the next “Arrow” season four episode as teased by social media posts and uploaded photos which suggest that Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) are tying the knot in the show’s next feature. However, with this new milestone in Oliver’s life, someone will not be happy and seeks to avenge her broken heart.
The previous episode of “Arrow” featured Felicity cutting her romantic links with Oliver after finding out that he has a love child with another woman. In the same episode, Oliver also withdrew from his mayoralty bid. Since the said episode served as the show’s last as it left for a brief hiatus, viewers could only be left wondering if Felicity’s goodbye is already cut and dried.
However, it seems that their fans have nothing to worry about as “Arrow’s” showrunner Marc Guggenheim uploaded a scene from the series showing that the supposed ex-couple did not part ways but actually got hitched. Or did they, really?
The synopsis for the next “Arrow” episode titled “Broken Hearts” goes:
“A heartbroken Cupid (guest star Amy Gumenick) returns to Star City with one goal to destroy anyone in love. The team learns she’s killing couples on their wedding day so Oliver and Felicity decide to pose as bait.”
So, fans of Oliver and Felicity should not keep their hopes high on the romantic relationship between the two, well, at least not yet, as the wedding is just a way to lure the antihero Cupid to surface and be dealt with.
Cupid returns to “Star City” for the next episode of “Arrow,” carrying on the belief that if she is not happy, no one else should be. It was during the show’s third season run when the character first graced the series wherein her obsession for her fellow archer Oliver Queen was revealed. As she comes back for the “Broken Hearts” episode, she will kill couples getting married as her way of interpreting the adage “misery loves company.”
Will Cupid succeed in killing Oliver and Felicity or, at least, one of them? Find out on “Arrow’s” “Broken Hearts” episode as it comes to CW this March 23 at 8 p.m. EST.
