'Arrow' season 4 news: Stephen Amell clears up rumors around season 5

It seems that the baseless strings of rumors surrounding the hit DC Comics show on The CW, “Arrow,” and its main star Stephen Amell, have ended up being short-lived ones, as the actor himselfplaying Oliver Queen/The Green Arrowdebunked the rumors that he would be leaving the show soon.

Stephen Amellknown for being an approachable and accommodating guy on his Facebook pagerecently addressed the circulating rumors regarding his character from the hit series “Arrow.” In the past few days, there had been articles published on the Internet claiming that he might leave the show after the fifth season. Since the show is already on its fourth season, it means that Amell could only last one more season.

The rumors came from articles that were published by The Inquisitr and Movie Pilot, and are both published as a speculation/theory by the author. The headlines for both articles read “Arrow Star Stephen Amell Leaving After Season 5 To Join Supernatural?” and “Will Stephen Amell leave Arrow after season 5?” respectively. Unfortunately, the writing was accepted as legitimate information by some and reached even the actor.

“Facebook, I keep reading that I’m leaving Arrow. I’m not,” Amell reassured fans, via his Facebook page. “I have a contract that runs through 2019. At least. Now, that doesn’t mean Arrow will run that long, but if it does, I’ll be here.”

About the other part of the rumor that said that he would be moving to another series, “Supernatural,” after “Arrow” season 4, Amell had this to say, “If they asked me, sure? If I was available, sure. Have they asked me? No. Would I be available? No.”

Here is the plot synopsis for the midseason premier of “Arrow”:

“Oliver (Stephen Amell) must deal with the devastating consequences of Darhk’s (guest star Neal McDonough) last attack. Seeking revenge, Oliver goes on a brutal manhunt looking for Dahrk.”

“Arrow” returns on The CW on Jan. 20.
