Given his current status as the superhero who has been in the DC Universe the longest, Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in The CW’s superhero series “Arrow,” now says that he would love to be in a “Supergirl” crossover event.
In last week’s episode of “Legends of Tomorrow,” which jumped forward several decades, Amell guest starred as a much older version of his character. The episode, titled “Star City, 2046,” showed Green Arrow, appearing 30 years older than he is at present, alongside a younger Green Arrow, who was revealed to be the Legends’ own Connor Hawke (Joseph David-Jones).
In a recent interview with IGN, Amell talked about “Star City, 2046” and revealed that just as The Flash (Grant Gustin) is doing in an upcoming episode, he is also open to the idea of doing a crossover with Supergirl (Melissa Benoist).
When asked whether or not he would like to find out what Green Arrow would make of the Girl of Steel, the actor answered, “Sure!”
“In this iteration of the DC Universe, the ‘Television Universe’ as it were, I’m the guy that’s been around the longest, so I always feel – whether I’m on a show or I’m not on a show – I always feel as though I can in some way, shape or form represent them, and I always want them to be wildly successful and last for many more years than we end up lasting, because I just want to see people have success,” he explained. “So I would love to go over to ‘Supergirl.'”
In the last episode of “Arrow,” Oliver was forced to reveal to Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) that he has a son, William, who Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) has abducted, leading his fiancee to break off their engagement. He also had to ask Vixen (Megalyn Echikunwoke), who made her live-action debut in the episode, for help in taking down Darhk.
“Arrow” returns from its mini-hiatus on Wednesday, March 23, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
