'Arrow' season 4 news: Oliver seeks revenge for Felicity when show returns on Jan. 20

The CW’s hit superhero series “Arrow” is currently undergoing a short hiatus after its mid-season finale aired. The installment featured what could be a devastating episode for some fans as Felicity Smoak has sustained serious gun shot injuries after Oliver Queen proposed to her in front of Star City’s people during a mayoral speech.

In the recently released trailer for episode 10, the viewers will see that Stephen Amell’s Oliver wants to seek revenge against Neil McDonough’s Damien Dahrk when the show returns to the small screen. Titled “Blood Debts,” the clip showed Felicity, portrayed by Emily Bett Rickards, being ushered to Star City Hospital.

With doctors presumably trying to revive her, Oliver watches on the side feeling helpless. On the voice over, he said, “Now I know it’s not my fault. It’s my responsibility, to end it.” Although the camera does not focus on Felicity, based on medical devices that surround her, she may have a hard time surviving the ordeal. The clip ends with Oliver deciding “I’m gonna kill him,” as he stood in front of someone’s grave.

Melty reported that as the camera interestingly did not reveal who the grave belong to, it may be plausible that Felicity may not make it alive. This can turn Oliver back to his usual dark and brooding vigilante who is blood-thirsty as seen in season 1.

However, it is still possible that other major characters may meet their demise with rumors having John Diggle and Captain Quentin Lance, played by David Ramsey and Paul Blackthorne respectively, as possible candidates. There is also a trailer apparently released in New Zealand that shows John Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn being choked by Damien Dahrk.

It remains to be seen who among them will not be returning for another run.

“Arrow’s” mid-season premiere is slated to air on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016.
