The MacBook Pro 2016 has been in the rumor mill for a few months now, with speculations that Apple will be announcing it in its upcoming event this month.
Apple has officially announced an event on Mar. 21, with invites already sent out, said Mac World. The event will be held in the Apple campus in Cupertino starting 8:30 A.M. and the presentation at 10 A.M.
There are rumors that the MacBook Pro 2016 will be announced on the said event, along with a smaller iPhone called iPhone 5se, possibly the Apple Watch 2, and an iPad, with mixed speculations as to whether it will be a follow up of the iPad Air or iPad Pro.
Apple has launched a MacBook in the same event last year, but speculations believe that the company will release a new iteration just a year after to update the features and specifications of the 12-inch device.
There are rumors that the MacBook Pro 2016 will feature Intel’s newest processor, the Skylake, that is expected to boost the speed and performance of the said device even more. Along with this, MacBook Pro 2016 is also anticipated to be complemented with the new operating system, El Capitan, which can increase its battery life and efficiency.
Along with these, other features rumored for the MacBook Pro 2016 include a touchscreen and a possibility of a detachable keyboard, similar to Microsoft’s Surface lines.
Meanwhile, another MacBook that is said to be long overdue for update is the MacBook Air. There are some who believe that Apple may also launch this in the same event, while others speculate that MacBook Air will only be announced in the WWDC 2016 in June. Once launched, the new MacBook Air is said to come in three variants, particularly in 15-inch, 13-inch, and 12-inch sizes.
Apple has not released any details, expect for the event date and time itself. Fans will need to wait for one more week to find out.
