Although the speculated announcement of the iPad Air 3 in an event next month is still unofficially confirmed, the Internet is flooded with discounts for the iPad Mini 3, making most believe that this is the “proof” as it clears off the way for the new tablet in the Air series.

The online page of Best Buy is offering a clearance sale of the 7.9-inch with IPS LCD display version of the iPad Mini 3, ranging from around ten percent to 35 percent price cut.

For instance, the 16GB silver variant is now sold at $349.99 from the original cost of $529.99. The 64GB of the same color is discounted with $100 off at $399.99 from $499.99. Meanwhile, the iPad Mini 3 with 128GB built-in storage and color gold is now sold at $510.99 from the previous price of $729.99. The discounts are applicable to a wide selection of colors and internal storage options.

Similarly, Amazon is also offering discounts for the different variants of the iPad Mini 3. Taking the same specifications, the 16GB silver variant is sold at $319.69 at a 40 percent price cut from the original cost. On the other hand, the 64GB variant of the same color now only costs $433.78 at 13 percent off, while the 128GB gold iPad Mini 3 costs $469 at a 36 percent discount. The site already includes free shipping for these products. Similar to Best Buy, the discounts are also offered in varying colors and storage.

Apple is anticipated to announce the iPad Air 3 during an event on Mar. 15. Some of the specifications that are rumored for the upcoming tablet include a 9.7-inch screen with enhanced display of 2334×3112 pixel resolution and 401 pixels per inch, a new and faster processor called A9 or A9X, and the latest iOS 9 iteration. It is also anticipated to have a slimmer body at 6.1mm thin, 3GB or 4GB or RAM, but without the 3D Touch feature.
