Following a number of new smartphone models launched these past months, Japanese tech giant Sony have also rolled out updates to Android Lollipop v5.0 to all the entire Xperia Z linethe Xperia Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, and Xperia Tablet Z.
It seems that Sony will not let its users be left behind in the fast moving Android OS scene. With most carriers and manufacturers still yet to update their current and previous models to Android Lollipop, the upcoming Android M won’t be stopped as it is set to come to users by late this year. To catch up with all these, Sony announced through their official blog that they too would be rolling out Android Lollipop v5.1 very soon.
According to the blog post, the company is set to once again roll out updates to the entire Xperia Z line (the ones previously mentioned), along with the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 this July. Additionally, other older phone models are set to have their fix on the latest Android OS, namely the Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua. Users of these two handsets have a lot more to be happy about for they will be leaping straight from Android 4.4 Kitkat to Android 5.1 Lollipop. The upgrade is reported to come to both handsets following the release of those for the Xperia Z line.
While all of these updates are sure to make their way to users come July, Sony noted that the time of release and availability may vary depending on the region and/or the mobile carrier of the user. Either way, everyone is set to have their fix on Lollipop v5.1 in no time.
The update will include all the core features of the Android Lollipop v5.1 OS, as well as various bug fixes and performance improvements.
