A couple of Motorola devices are tipped to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system (OS) as it is expected to roll out before the year ends. This is in the event that previous rumors turn out to be true that the final version of the software will be ready before this summer season ends.
Numerous reports suggest that the company will soon release the brand-new OS to a plethora of devices namely the Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto G4 Plus, Moto Z, Moto G4 and the Moto Z Force. This list however seems to be a bit modified to lean towards the upscale iterations of Motorola devices. What is unclear is whether this means that the update will just come first to these devices with the rest of the product roster eventually sporting the new OS or it will be exclusive to the aforementioned gadgets.
At this time, there is still no word if the Moto E (2nd Gen) 4G, Moto X Force, Moto G Turbo, Maxx 2, DROID Turbo, Moto Turbo, Moto Maxx, Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto G (3rd Gen), Moto E (2015), Moto G (2nd Gen) and Moto G Turbo Edition, which are all circulating in the market, will have the new OS.
The Google software is expected to bring a plethora of changes and improvements to Android devices. Rumor has it that on top of improved Java 8 language support, file browsing system and Google Assistant, the OS will also give ample attention to making notifications more manageable. Apps can also be easily categorized and utilized with Instant Apps and Quick Switch. Multi-window features as well as a Virtual Reality (VR) interface are also said to be coming alongside a more power-efficient device.
South Korean tech giant LG is said to be already running a preview test of the new OS for LG G5 users in the East Asian country which started earlier this week. Meanwhile, Google’s own Nexus devices are touted to receive the update anytime soon.
