Amy Duggar, the niece of “19 Kids and Counting” stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, tied the knot with Dillon King in a beautiful ceremony held at Horton Farms near Bentoville, Arkansas on Sunday.
Attended by around 400 guests including extended family and friends, the wedding described as “country chic” was officiated by a friend of the couple. Amy’s dad Terry Jordan walked her down the aisle to the tune of “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” while her mother Deanna donned a rose-gold gown.
The 28-year old bride wore a gown designed by Essense of Australia who some note to be not in adherence to the strict dress code the family is known for. She accessorized it with a taupe sash and a long veil.
“I loved how modern it was, and I love the train. I love everything about it. I would wear it to the grocery store and the gas station. I might bowl it it. Go-karts… I’ll find a way to wear it all the time,” she told US Magazine.
From the Duggar side, the ones who participated in the event were Jim Bob and Michelle, cousin Jessa, Josh’s wife Anna and their five-year old daughter Mackynzie as a flower girl, younger relatives Johanna, Jordyn, Jennifer and Josie. Jill Duggar also made an appearance alongside Derick Dillard and son Israel, as they take a break from missionary work in El Salvador.
“This is such a positive moment in our lives,” Amy shared with People of the event despite the scandal surrounding the family over Josh Duggar lately.
The reception was decorated with large chandeliers while the tables were adorned with candles, lanterns and baby’s breath. There was also a bar full of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
After the party, the couple surprised the guests by riding on a motorcycle. They reportedly went to one of their favorite towns for a few days before spending a week in a resort at Cancun for their honeymoon.
