Season 6 of FX’s hit series “American Horror Story” is down to the second half of its current run. Fans are speculating that some of their fan-favorite stars will appear down the line while a twist in the story takes place in episode 6.
With the show’s theme revolving around “Roanoke,” most of the characters have already been introduced such as Kathy Bates’ Butcher, Lady Gaga’s wood witch and Denis O’Hare’s professor. However, noticeably missing from ensemble is regular mainstay Evan Peters.
According to Thrillist, there is hearsay as to what the 29-year-old actor’s role might be. Some suggest that he could be the man behind the pig mask, Dandy’s (Finn Wittrock) relative Edward Philippe Mott or the combination of the two. What may have added to the assumption is that he may be just hiding in plain sight given that he is credited after every episode.
During a previous interview, Peters remained silent about his new part in the series. He only let it slip that he dyed his hair red for the season. “I’m trying to figure out if I can say. Yes, I didn’t do this to my hair,” he said.
Meanwhile, Vanity Fair shares that showrunner Ryan Murphy confirmed there will be an interesting plot twist in episode 6. As to why it took five weeks for it to transpire, some theorize that it will somehow involve breaking the fourth wall. Apparently, the fake docuseries connects the first five episodes to the previous five seasons of the franchise.
As the narrative moves forward, there are also rumors that stunt doubles for actresses Lily Rabe and Taissa Farmiga may appear on episode 8 and episode 9, respectively. The former portrays the character of Shelby Miller but the latter’s role remains under wraps. Since there is no confirmation yet, available information should be taken with a grain of salt.
Season 6 episode 5 of “American Horror Story” is slated to air on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 10 p.m. ET. It will be followed by the much-awaited episode 6 on Oct. 19 at the same time.
