Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is returning to the small screen this coming March 8, and the teaser for the premiere of the show’s third season revealed that fans can look forward to an ensemble of old and new characters on the show’s next season.

International Business Times reported that the trailer for the upcoming season showed “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) interacting with the “U.S. president” played by William Sadler, who, incidentally, also played the same role in “Iron Man 3.” Apart from Sadler, actress Natalia Cordova-Buckley will also join the cast and breathe life to the character of Elena Rodriguez, otherwise known as Slingshot. This piece of revelation fueled the excitement of the fans of the show as they anticipate whose side Slingshot will take.

Slingshot is expected to provide a new perspective in the series. While it is true that she is equipped with super-speed, her use of which is limited as she has to go to a particular area in order to optimize her power.

In addition to Slingshot, fans can also look forward to the debut of Daisy’s team of Inhumans. However, avid followers of the show may need to wait a little longer before they can finally witness the presence of these new characters and their influence on the story.

Meanwhile, the premiere episode of the show is dubbed as “Bouncing Back,” and its synopsis goes:

“In the aftermath of his trip to Maveth, Coulson is more determined than ever to get to Gideon Malick and put an end to Hydra once and for all. Meanwhile, Daisy and the team encounter more Inhumans who have powers like they’ve never seen before, but will they be friends or enemies of S.H.I.E.L.D.?”

Breathecast, on the other hand, reported that “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” showrunner Clark Gregg has disclosed in a TV Line interview that the team behind the show is working on a story that will link the show to a Marvel Cinematic Universe motion picture. This pronouncement of Gregg’s only bolstered speculations that “S.H.I.E.L.D.” might be connected to the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War” movie.

“But with the Inhuman outbreak, you have people with powers suddenly all over the place. And there are those who feel that people who evolve differently need to be eradicated… and there are those who remember that those people are also humans. And there are divisions among those people…all of which kinda sounds like the seeds of a ‘civil war’ to me,” he reportedly said.
