Agent Carter Season 2 spoilers; season extended by two episodes; Peggy is over Steve; welcomes new adventure in LA

Agent Carter is moving to Los Angeles and moving on with her life without Steve Rogers.

Hayley Atwell, who plays Agent Peggy Carter, recently revealed in the Houston Comicpalooza that with her character’s transfer to a new city, listed in the official synopsis as “her most dangerous assignment yet,” Peggy is in a much better place now in a more exciting time in her life, reported The Latin Post.

“What was very exciting is, in the second season, she has grieved over Steve. She is now about to embark on a new adventure in her life. So, she is in a much better place. In terms of where she is, it is going to be a lot lighter for her. There is going to be more humor to her and more warmth. She is not struggling so much with her identity,” she said.

Atwell also shared that ABC ordered an extended season from the show, which will now have 10 episodes as compared to Season 1’s eight episodes.

It is still unsure whether series regulars James D’Arcy or Lyndsy Fonseca would reprise their roles as Jarvis and Angie for the second season but it was Atwell herself who hinted at Fonseca’s possible return to the cast through her twitter account.

“See you sooooon darling @LyndsyMFonseca! X,” she said.

Meanwhile, showrunner Tara Butters denied that the cameo of Toby Jones as Arnim Zola at the end of the first season means that he will take on a much bigger role in Season 2.

“I don’t think just because you see Toby Jones at the end of this season that, ‘Oh, next season’s going to be about Toby Jones.’ That was really just to tie it into the Winter Soldier program. That being said, the best ideas will win the day, so I think once we really get into talking about a second season… we have a lot of ideas, and what’s great about the structure of this show is, you can tell so many different stories and go so many different directions,” she said to Variety.

Most likely, she said that they would further work on Peggy’s backstory to give viewers a more in depth exploration of Agent Carter’s character.
