2017 Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster news: West Coast market tapped as primary market for new luxury vehicle

German automobile manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz, specifically targets the West Coast market in the newly released 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster.

The two seater premium car was recently unveiled in this year’s Los Angeles Road Show and has created strong interest from the wealthy Californian market. The new model is upgraded inside out to make sure it is a suitable drive for the fast paced yet very luxurious lifestyle of the California elite.

The 2017 version of the Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster is available with a 3.0-liter V6 or 4.7 V8 engine and is offering 362 and 449 horsepower respective of the type of the car’s engine. AMG versions are also fitted with either a 577 horsepower 5.5-liter V8 or a mammoth 6.0-liter V12 variant with power up to 621 horsepower. It is also capable of shifting through four types of modes namely, eco, comfort, sport, or sport plus. Likewise, there is an individual mode which allows the driver to customize the suspension settings and other driving dynamics.

Outside, the new luxury car exudes ultimate luxury and elegance with its diamond radiator grille and environment adaptable redesigned LED headlights while the large rear taillights are also revamped. As for wheels, 19-inch, five-spoke wheels come as the car’s standard. There will also be two new colors available brilliant blue and design selenite grey mango.

Mercedez-Benz USA CEO, Steve Canon was in the unveiling of the new car and was quoted saying, “This is a California car. It’s a performance car. It’s about driving enjoyment. In California there’s a very healthy car culture, so there is a place for cars like this here.”

“The importance of the SL in our portfolio is not connected to its volume,” he added.

The car comes at a hefty price of more or less $100,000, but given the company’s target market, there’ s a huge possibility that the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster will soon be hitting the roads of California.
