2016 RAV4 Hybrid news: More power, better acceleration, improved fuel efficiency

Initially showcased at the 2015 New York Auto Show, the new 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid can now be purchased.

The Hybrid, which promises more power, acceleration, and fuel efficiency, has several varieties to fit the needs of the buyer. It comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that can deliver up to 194 horsepower with the option of switching to EV mode. With this, the new RAV4 can rev from 0 to 60 at 8.1 seconds, making it both the most fuel efficient and best performer among its peers.

Externally, the new RAV4 looks sleeker with its new grille and bumper designs, as well as the thinner and full LED headlights. It looks slightly similar to the new Auris and Avensis designs. For its interior, Toyota used softer materials and fabrics to wrap the seats. It has added convenience and comfort features such as a 12-volt outlet at the back, 7-inch display audio, 4.2-inch multi-info display, LED console lights at the center, and larger cup holders and sunglass holders.

Except for the base model, the rest of the variants will also get trim levels, new equipment levels, and the Toyota Safety Sense. For higher models, the user will get more convenience, safety, and aesthetic features.

For instance, the Business Edition Model gets a different wiper and climate control feature, to name a few. For the Business Edition Model Plus, they get additional LED lights, keyless entry feature, and a power tailgate.

Meanwhile, the RAV4 Hybrid Icon comes in two options, the powertrain or the four-wheel drive that sports18-inch mag wheels and electrically adjustable driver’s seat. On the other hand, the RAV4 Hybrid Excel includes roof rails, car entertainment system, leather seats, and parking assistance features.

The diesel and petrol models are set for delivery in December, while the rest of the variants will be delivered in January.
