2016 new games: Top developers talk gaming for the year, VR with high expectations


As a new year enters, a new year for games begins! If 2015 gave players a massive roster of goodand badtitles, 2016 promises more, as most of the games in the “highly anticipated” and the “much awaited” list will be finally coming.

Sony Computer Entertainment recently asked top developers to give a rundown of the games they are itching to get their hands on in 2016. A number of familiar and unfamiliar games were given, and among the most mentioned titles include Naughty Dog’s “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End,” Hello Games’ “No Man’s Sky,” Capcom’s “Street Fighter V,” and many more.

Paul Rustchynsky, game director of “Driveclub” by Evolution Studios, is excited for both the new “Uncharted” game as well as “The Witness,” but he is really rooting to play the upcoming “Dark Souls III.”

Mike Bithell, the independent developer of the game “Volume,” on the other hand, is excited to get his hands on “No Man’s Sky.” The developer is also excited to know what the PlayStation VR will be able to give to fans.

“Bloodborne” game producer Jun Yoshino, meanwhile, has a full list of his to-play games for this yearincluding “Street Fighter V,” “Uncharted 4,” “Doom,” “Dark Souls 3,” “Final Fantasy XV,” and most of all, “Persona 5.”

The PlayStation VR also did not lack in terms of expectations, as Brynley Gibson of Sony Computer Entertainment London Studio expressed his excitement for the new gaming gear form Sony, calling the year 2016 as the year of virtual reality.

“What I’m looking forward to most in 2016 has got to be the release of PlayStation VR!” Gibson said. “I may be developing for it but I want one at home. 2016 is the year of VR. It’s the start of a journey that is going to change the landscape of gaming forever. There are already a great selection of titles announced and I can’t wait to play all these new experiences.”
